Over the last 30 years, we've established ourselves as being true canopy pioneers.
We’ve been designing, manufacturing and installing canopies for over 30 years. In that time, we’ve worked with schools, industrial sites, businesses and homeowners across the UK, helping them make better use of their outdoor space whatever the weather.
Since 1990, we’ve completed more than 100,000 installations nationwide. We’re a British manufacturer, with our design, manufacturing and installation teams based here in the UK. That means we understand local requirements and what our canopies need to cope with day in, day out in the UK climate.
We take a straightforward, practical approach. That means site-specific calculations as standard, compliance with British Standards and designs that are always fit for purpose.
How it started
Canopies UK began in 1990 with the development of the Connekt canopy. At the time, the aim was simple: build practical structures that actually solved problems rather than just ticking a box.
That mindset has stayed with us. Our range has expanded over the years and so has the scale of the projects we take on, but the focus is still on designing canopies that work properly in the real world.
I like working for Canopies UK, as even after the longest and hardest of days, I know I’m making a difference to a lot of people. I can sit back and know it’s all for a good cause and that’s worth any number of hours or hard work.
What we do today
Today, most of our work is in education and industrial environments, where reliability, safety and long-term performance really matter.
We regularly design and install:
- Outdoor classrooms, playground shelters and covered walkways for schools, nurseries and colleges
- Loading bay canopies, covered storage areas and entrance shelters for warehouses and manufacturing sites
Alongside this, we work with clients in hospitality, healthcare, housing and regeneration, as well as homeowners who want a well-built canopy they can rely on all year round.
We handle projects end to end. Design, surveys, site specific calculations, manufacturing and installation are all done by our in-house team. Keeping that process under one roof helps us maintain quality and avoid the issues that come with passing work between multiple suppliers.
Looking ahead
Our vision hasn’t changed: we want as many properties across the UK as possible to benefit from a well-designed, well-built canopy.
We’ll achieve that by continuing to live by the values that have shaped how we work for over 30 years. That means remembering that customers deserve more than they expect, taking pride in what we deliver and recognising the effort that goes into doing things properly.
Our employees have been pivotal to our success and will continue to be as we move forward. We work closely, support each other and celebrate achievements as a team. It’s a big part of who we are, and why working here feels less like a collection of job roles and more like a group of people genuinely working towards the same goal.
