Wellington School - Canopies UK

Background

Wellington School is situated in Timperley, Manchester. It caters for 1,365 Year 7 to 13 pupils and has 80 teaching staff.

The requirement

We were approached by the school’s business manager, who wanted to create more space for students to sit and/or eat during break and lunch times. They also wanted a new canopy for the main entrance.

Challenges

We needed to create a sheltered area that was:

Large enough to take some of the strain away from the busy canteen hall
In keeping with the rest of the school building

The solution

We made it really easy for the school to visualise the end result by creating mock-up images showing how the canopies would look in situ.

We installed one of our highly attractive and functional Connekt umbrella canopies to create the much-needed additional dining space.

We also installed one of our Connekt canopy systems over the main entrance.

Thanks to our bespoke colour-matching service, we were able to make sure the two canopies exactly matched the school’s colours and blended in with the surrounding environment.

Results

Students at Wellington School now have more places to sit and/or eat during break times and the entrance leading up to the school is fully sheltered from the elements.
